Member Benefits

Networking Opportunities
Connect with other psychologists within the great State of Michigan through our electronic and in-person networking events! Stay relevant with current clinical and ethics trends, job opportunities, leadership development, legislative issues related to the profession, and research. The MPA Listserv and Social Media (Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter) are wonderful resources to remain up-to-date with the profession as a whole. We also offer a FREE mentorship program for our graduate student and ECP members, connecting them with other psychologists in the state for career guidance, leadership development, and other professional issues.

Legal Services Benefit
We are proud to offer a complimentary legal services program.  Attorney, Deborah Williamson, JD, is available to provide up to one hour of complimentary consultation to each MPA member. The one hour is not intended as an entitlement of 60 minutes to each MPA member but is provided to establish a cap at which the consultation being provided is no longer complimentary. The free initial consultation is to review issues related to an MPA member's professional practice. Members who are interested in taking advantage of this benefit, please contact the MPA Office for referral information.

Continuing Education
MPA presents multiple conferences/seminars within the State of Michigan including our Annual Spring Convention, a bi-annual Ethics and Insurance conference, an annual Health Psychology Symposium, a Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Responsibility Conference, and many more. We also provide our members with free and discounted CE events every year. These conferences not only come at a great discount to members, but also allow psychologists within the state to save on costly travel fees and still attend quality trainings with APA-approved CEs; including many virtual/remote offerings.

Consultation Support
Did you know that psychologists who belong to their state professional organizations have fewer ethical violations than those who are not members? MPA provides free consultation regarding insurance, licensing, and professional ethics, as well as access to experts in numerous specialties.

Leadership Development
MPA offers many opportunities for leadership development, such as our mentorship program and many CE events. Looking for more? Join one of our committees today and become an active player in the future of this profession! The MPA Board is an increasingly diverse group of psychologists looking to continue bringing graduate students and ECPs into the pipeline of leadership.

MPA provides regular newsletters with important programmatic and practice-related information, a members-only email listserv, email for breaking news and important updates, and a members-only website section.  Also follow us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn). We love providing up-to-date information related to career development opportunities, networking events, job openings, and much more!
