Who We Are

The Michigan Psychological Association (MPA) is the voice of psychology in Michigan. We represent psychologists, students, and affiliates across the state who are dedicated to advancing psychological health, promoting excellence in practice, and supporting one another as a professional community.

As the state’s leading organization for psychologists, MPA provides connection, education, and advocacy for those who serve Michigan’s diverse communities. Together, our members strengthen the role of psychology in improving the well-being of individuals, families, and society.

What We Do

MPA exists to support and empower Michigan psychologists at every stage of their careers. Through continuing education, professional networking, and statewide advocacy, we create opportunities for growth, collaboration, and impact.

Continuing Education

MPA offers accessible, high-quality continuing education for psychologists through virtual monthly CEs, our annual Spring Conference, and Fall Symposium. Each event features expert presenters and practical, evidence-based content designed to meet professional interests and state licensure requirements, all in a format that’s flexible and convenient for busy professionals.

Professional Connection & Support

Membership in MPA means joining a statewide network of peers and leaders who are shaping the future of psychology in Michigan. Members have access to our knowledgeable committee chairs in ethics, licensure, insurance billing, and other key areas of professional practice. MPA members also receive a 35% discount on AATBS on-demand CEs and EPPP prep, providing valuable tools for continued growth and development.

Advocacy & Involvement

MPA is the recognized voice for psychology at the state level, working to inform policy, support legislation that promotes access to mental health care, and uphold the integrity of the profession. Members are encouraged to strengthen this work by serving on committees, participating in educational events, and joining us for our 2026 Advocacy Day at the Lansing Capitol.

Our Community

With over 700 members statewide, MPA is built on connection and collaboration. Our members bring diverse perspectives and shared passion to advance psychology’s role in Michigan. Whether you’re a seasoned psychologist, early career professional, or graduate student, there’s a place for you in MPA’s growing community.
