January 9: Radically Open DBT Part II: Experiential Practice with RO DBT Strategies and Tools The next WPS meeting is on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm and will be on Zoom. After the hour-long presentation, there will be an open discussion for attendees.

Dr. Jody Hoffman and Dr. Jade Kobayashi will give part II of the presentation on RO DBT with practical skills and how to implement RO DBT strategies with clients. RO DBT is an evidence-based treatment that targets disorders of overcontrol (i.e., excessive inability to inhibit urges, impulses, delays gratification, and focus emotions inward). In their previous seminar, they provided an introductory overview of Radically Open DBT, including the rationale for its development as well as its general treatment structure. In this follow-up seminar, they will provide experiential practice with key Radically Open DBT strategies. Participants will learn to Practice exploring "Edges" in RO DBT - with clients and with yourself as a clinician, practice key "heat on" and "heat off" strategies and activate client's social safety system, and examine and develop flexible mind skills.
 
*1 hour of free CE credit* is available for *MPA members *who attend this presentation.
 
About Washtenaw Psychology Society (WPS): Washtenaw Psychology Society was created in October 2015. Since then, 435 psychologists have signed up to be members! WPS is a local affiliate of MPA* that facilitates networking, peer consultation groups, mentoring of early career psychologists, discussion of practice issues, and educational presentations. Meetings are usually on the second Sunday of each month, 2-4 PM. Each meeting includes an educational presentation led by one of our members.
