MPA Psychologist Referral Service

Emotional distress is not uncommon. It can be effectively treated.

Studies indicate that nearly one-half of all adult Americans suffer from a mental health disorder at least once during their lifetimes. Up to two million children a year have a diagnosable mental disorder. No one is immune to anxiety, depression, addictions, fears or problems with careers and relationships.

What is the MPA Referral Service? How can it help?

The Michigan Psychological Association Statewide (MPA) Referral Service is designed to put people in touch with qualified psychologists in their area. There is no charge to the caller for the service. By placing a call to the toll-free telephone number or visiting the MPA website, an individual can receive referrals to local psychologists based on the services required.

How are referrals made?

All referrals are to licensed psychologists who are members of the Michigan Psychological Association and who have subscribed to the referral service. Calls are received at the MPA central office and referrals are made based on geographic location, services needed and requirements of the caller. The MPA website contains a referral service database searchable by specialty, city and zip code.
